<p>The King's Head, Aylesbury is a 15th-century coaching inn in King's Head Passage off Market Square, Aylesbury, HP20 2RW. The building's oldest structure dates from the 1400s, though its cellars are much older, thought to date back to the 13th century and possibly to a former local friary. The inn's first documented reference is a 1455 conveyance between a London wool merchant and a former master of the London Mercer's Company.</p>
<p>The property was given to the National Trust in 1925 by Rozsika von Wertheimstein and the Rothschild family, connected to Charles Rothschild, whose father Nathan, 1st Baron Rothschild, had acquired it in the 19th century. Today it operates as a working pub, with part of the building run as a bar by a local Chiltern brewery, alongside a cobbled courtyard, dine-in food, outdoor seating and step-free access.</p>
